With the objective of developing Kerala's youth as an industry-responsive, globally-employable and a technically competent workforce, the Department of Labour and Skills has undertaken policy-level initiatives to enhance the status of vocational education and skills training in the state. Accordingly, the department has set up Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE), as the nodal agency for facilitating and coordinating various skill development initiatives of the state.The macro objective of KASE is to enhance economic growth by ensuring handsome compensation packages for our young workforce, in India and abroad, and bring respect and dignity to blue-collar jobs. Considering the peculiar demographic characteristics of the state of Kerala, unique skilling models have been adopted by KASE with industry tie-ups and placement linkages. Several such skill development programs initiated by KASE are implemented and proved successful, encouraging KASE to develop more programs which are present in the pipeline. ‘These programs stand out when compared with the skill development initiatives of other states in India. Recognizing the continued effort put in by KASE in skill development, Government of Kerala has entrusted KASE to be the State Skill Development Mission (SSDM) vide Government Order G.O. (Rt) No. 1501/16/LBR dated 02.12.2016. KASE has undertaken the initiatives in skill development in Nursing, Oil & Reg, Security skills, Teaching skills, Entrepreneurship, Constructive skill.
In the context of current policy and regulatory developments in the country, the private security industry is destined to continue to play an important role. The
Hon'ble Prime Minister's emphasis on “Make in India” will encourage foreign
capital into manufacturing and other such industries. ‘This will not only trigger
demand for private security personnel but will compel the industry to adopt
processes and practices... in sync with international standards. Added to this, the
government's emphasis on “Digital India” will introduce new security
technology into the industry. With the technological advancements in every
sphere of activity, it is necessary that private security professionals remain
abreast with them to bring about better security execution in their deployment
theaters. The International College for Security Studies (ICSS) established
under Pragmatic Educational Society is one of the leading security institutions in
the country. It is a matter of great honor for ICSS (Pragmatic Education
Society) to partner with Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence to establish
